NEW CARLISLE - Richard Howard Wykoff, 81, of East U.S. 20, died at 1:33 a.m. Saturday in LaPorte Hosptial. Mr. Wykoff was a self-employed farmer. He was born Jan. 19, 1915, in LaPorte County and was a lifetime area resident.
On Aug. 11, 1940, in Oakland City, Ind., he married Esther Hunt. She died Dec. 6, 1968. On July 26, 1969, in New Carlisle, he married Virginia Southworth Baldwin. She survives with two daughters, Pam Wykoff Houston of Lawrence, Kan., and Corrine Chapman of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two sons, Dan of New Carlisle and Chris of Lafayette, Ind.; two stepdaughters, Jennifer Jones and Angela Prgomelja, both New Carlisle; a stepson, John Baldwin of Longview, Wash.; 18 grandchildren; and a sister, Josephine Wykoff Haley of St. Petersburg, Fla. He was a Hudson Township trustee from 1950 to 1954, a member of New Carlisle Conservation Club and New Carlisle Methodist Church.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the church. Friends may call from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in Kaniewski Funeral Home, 201 S. Filbert St. Memorial contributions may be made to Visiting Nurses Association of New Buffalo, the church or New Prairie Athletic Department.
