preceded in death by his father, and by his two beloved Siberian
Huskies, Zoe and Amber.
Bernie was a graduate of St. Joseph's High
School and Purdue University School of Pharmacy. He loved being a
pharmacist and retired in September 2006 after 45 years of
service to the surrounding community, including the University of
Notre Dame Sports Medicine Department, and was also the former
owner of Krajci Drugs in Niles, MI. He was an avid fisherman, and
enjoyed all sports, especially football. He had a passion for
reading, especially anything pertaining to history. He was an
awesome cook and enjoyed cooking for his family and friends. His
homemade soup was legendary, and you never left his presence
without a full stomach, a laugh, and one of his long and
endearing stories. Bernie loved his wife, his children and his
grandchildren, but most of all, he loved life. It is only fitting
he passed away so peacefully in his sleep...probably after a good
day of fishing. We love you and we will miss you Bern, you were
truly "one of the good guys!"
