George W. Wright
George W. Wright, aged 80, of 1105 South 25th street, died at 4 pm Thursday in St. Joseph hospital after several years's illness. He was a painter and wood finisher, and was the first employee of the Singer Manufacturing company when it opened its plant here years ago. Later he was employed 14 years as a painter for the Studebaker Wagon Works. He was born in Cass county, Michigan, Sept. 25, 1861, and came here 52 years ago. He was married in 1889 in LaPorte, Ind., to Hannah Wiltfong who died in 1918. He leaves four daughters, Mrs. Jean Norman and Mrs. Glenna O'Dell, of South Bend, Mrs. Mary Butler, of Plymouth, Ind., and Mrs. Ethel Dunham of Flint, Mich.; four stepsons and one stepdaughter, four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren and two brothers, Henry Wright, of South Bend, and Martin Wright, of Plymouth. Friends will be received in the Earl C. Hollis Funeral home after 7 pm today and until prayer services there at 2 pm Sunday.  Rev. Van W. Hinckley, pastor of the River Park Methodist church, will officiate. Later services will take place at 3 pm Sunday in the Sauktown church near LaPorte. Burial will be in the Sauktown cemetery. A change has been made in the funeral plans for George W. Wright, 1105 South 25th street. Prayer services will take lace at 1:30 pm Sunday in the Earl C. Hollis funeral home and the funeral will take place at 3 pm in the Sauktown church near Laporte, Ind., Rev. Van W. Hinckley, pastor of the River Park Methodist church, will officiate.  Burial will be in Sauktown cemetery. Friends may call in the Hollis funeral home until the service there.
