SOUTH BEND - Brenda A. Wray, 36, passed away unexpectedly
on Thursday, March 27, in her residence. She was preceded in
death by her grandfathers, Robert Mitchell and Eugene Zimmer.
Brenda was born October 28, 1971, in South Bend.
On May 6, 2001, in Las Vegas, NV, Brenda
married Daniel Wray, who survives. She is also survived by her
mother and stepfather, Mary Ann (Malcolm) Cain of
South Bend; her father and stepmother, James (Susan) Zimmer
of Cassopolis; two stepdaughters, Rachel Wray and Morgan VanOverbergh
of South Bend; two brothers, Robert Zimmer of Cassopolis and
Brian (Jennifer Pehlke) Zimmer of Pasadena, CA; grandmothers,
Margaret Mitchell of South Bend and Jane Zimmer of
Edwardsburg; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Gerald and Linda
Wray of South Bend; two sisters-in-law, Kate and Steve Wiegand,
Sarah and Leon Eck, both of South Bend; three
brothers-in-law, Jerry Wray, Brian and Janet Wray and Nick Wray,
all of South Bend; and by several nieces and nephews.
Brenda was employed at His & Hers Family
Hair Care, Mishawaka, and formerly owned C J & Company Salon
in South Bend. Brenda was a 1990 graduate of Riley High School,
and a graduate of Premier College of Cosmetology. She was also a
member and past MVP of Marroni's Dart League. Brenda loved her
family and was passionate about her work. She loved tailgating
and Notre Dame football. She was a great friend who could always
be counted on to make sure everyone around her had a good time
and was well fed - she was a great cook. Brenda always had a
smile on her face, and we will never forget her laugh.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m.
Monday, March 31, in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home North,
17033 Cleveland Road, with Rev. Gregory Haake officiating. Burial
will follow at Highland Cemetery. Friends may visit with the
family from 2 to 6 p.m. today (Sunday, March 30) in the funeral
home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Brenda Wray
Scholarship Fund, c/o South Bend Firefighters Federal Credit
Union, 1122 S. Main St., South Bend, IN 46601.
