Jean R. "Genevieve" Wozniak,
86, of South Bend, passed away Saturday morning at Regency Place
in South Bend. Jean was born on October 1, 1915 in Michigan City
to the late Stephen and Rose (Kaczmarcyk) Kapusta.
Living most of her life in South Bend, Jean
was married to Stanley Wozniak on January 22, 1938 who precedes
her. Jean was a homemaker who loved to read. She was also a
member of St. Matthew Cathedral and the St. Matthew Rosary
Society. Jean was crowned Miss Indiana in 1934. She is preceded
in death by her parents, her husband, Stanley, a sister, Lottie Hartwig,
one grandchild and one great grandchild. She is survived by her
daughters, Rose Marie (Jerry) Foster of Indianapolis,
Ind., Patricia Ann (John) Bock of El Paso, Texas, and
Kathleen (Bill) Harrison of South Bend, Ind., her sons
Thomas Stanley (Maryann) Wozniak of Mishawaka, and Kenneth Lee
Wozniak of South Bend, Ind., her sister, Cecelia (Dick) Black
of Sarasota, Fla., and brothers, Joseph (Esther) Kapusta of
Sarasota, Fla., and Stanley Kapusta of South Bend, Ind. She is
also survived by her 14 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
Calling will be on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m.
at Guisinger Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 3718 S. Michigan St. A
Rosary will be said during the visitation. Funeral service will
be on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Matthew Cathedral. Burial will
follow at Highland Cemetery. Memorial may be directed to the
Regency Place Activity Department or the St. Matthew Building
Fund.
