Donald J. Wozniak, 85, of West 10th
Street, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away after a brief illness at
6:12 p.m. Saturday, March 1, in the Saint Joseph Regional Medical
Center, Mishawaka. Don was born on Dec. 17, 1917, in South Bend,
Ind., as the son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Banicki)
Wozniak. He was also preceded in death by one son, James Wozniak
on April 21, 1968; and by one brother, Joseph Wozniak.
On July 1, 1959, in Mishawaka, Don married
the former Elsie Adams Van De Putte, who survives. He is
also survived by a daughter, Donna Jean (Larry) Nichols of
Cincinnati, Ohio; one stepson, Larry Van De Putte of Mishawaka;
three grandchildren, Jennifer, Ryan and Sandra; and by several
great-grandchildren.
Don was employed by Dodge Reliance of
Mishawaka for 40 years before his retirement in 1980. Don was a
member of St. Bavo's Catholic Church, the Dodge Quarter Century
Club, Eagles Aerie #2083, was a World War II Navy veteran, a
member of V.F.W. Post #624 and the American Legion Edwardsburg
Post, and was a lifetime member of the BK Club in Mishawaka
Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. today,
March 4, in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W 8th Street, Mishawaka.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral
home, with Rev. Barry England of St. Bavo's Catholic Church
officiating. Entombment to follow at Chapel Hill Memorial
Gardens, Osceola, Ind. VFW Post 360 will conduct military rites.
