Adelaide D. Woodworth

Adelaide D. Woodworth, 80, residing on East
Sorin Street, South Bend, Ind., passed away at 1 a.m. on Tuesday,
Jan. 25, in her residence.
She was born on Oct. 31,1919, in Mishawaka,
Ind., to the late August B. and Irma C. (Hesch) Dos-mann, and had
lived in the South Bend/Mishawaka community all of her life. She
was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jennifer Canfield
in 1987.
On June 20, 1942, in Mishawa-ka, as Adelaide
Dosmann, she married Gerard P. Canfield, who also preceded her in
death on Dec. 28, 1968. Together they had seven children, David
(Marge) Canfield of South Bend, Robert (Tonda) Canfield and Brian
(Deborah) Canfield, both of Mishawaka, Ted (Judy) Canfield of
Indianapolis, Ind., Suzanne (Fred) Krycka of New Buffalo, Mich.,
Beth Ann (Scott) Robinett and Kathleen (Doug) Wilkins, both of
Granger, Ind.
Then on Nov. 19, 1971, she married Walter P.
Bogunia, who also preceded her in death on Jan. 1, 1989. On Oct
19, 1991, she married Virgil Woodworth, who passed away on April
30, 1995. Adelaide is also survived by her stepchildren, David
(Sharon) Bogunia of Mishawaka, June (Jack) Yarbrough of Granger,
Tony (Patricia) Woodworth of Decatur, Ind., James (Marlene)
Woodworth of South Bend and Charlene (Robert) Neville of Gerlach,
Nev.
Also surviving are 14 grandchildren; ten
step-grandchildren; one great-grandchild and seven step-
great-grandchildren; along with six sisters, Gwendolyn Parks of
Crystal River, Fla., Barbara Goddard and Yvonne Dosmann, both of
Mishawaka, Delphine (Robert) Wirt of Elkhart, Ind., Jacqueline
(Roland) Horvath of Osceola, Ind., and Immogene (Thomas) Bennett
of Sister Bay, Wis.; and two brothers, Thomas (Martha) Dosmann of
South Bend and William (Jeanne) Dosmann of Livonia, Mich.; and a
sister-in-law, Virginia (Clam) Canfield.
Adelaide was formerly employed with the
Associates Investment Company, and retired in 1982 from the South
Bend Community School Corporation where she served as secretary
for the Thomas A. Edison School. She was a member of St. Anthony
de Padua Catholic Church, Parents without Partners, and was a
member and past president of AARP-South Bend Chapter.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11
a.m. on Friday, Jan. 28, in St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church.
Rev. Barry England, pastor, will officiate. Cremation will take
place and burial will follow services at Chapel Hill Memorial
Gardens, Osceola, Ind. The family will receive friends one-half
hour before services on Friday in the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested
that contributions in memory of Mrs. Woodworth be made to St.
Anthony's Church, 2120 E. Jefferson Blvd., South Bend, IN 46615.
The Palmer Funeral Home, South Bend, is
handling arrangements.
