MISHAWAKA - Florence Woodward, 77, of
Creston, Ohio, formerly of Mishawaka, died Friday morning in her
home. Mrs. Woodward retired from South Bend Plastics. She was
born Dec. 19, 1917, in South Milwaukee, Wis., and lived in
Mishawaka until August 1995.
On June 11, 1934, as Florence Pingel,
she married Brice Woodward. He died Nov. 13, 1987. She is
survived by a daughter, Sue Ann Swartz of Serville, Ohio;
three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters,
Betty Club of Lodi, Ind., and Dolores Leichtman of
Mishawaka; and three brothers, Jack Pingel of Mishawaka, Gene
Pingel of Columbus, Ohio, and Howard Pingel of South Bend. A son,
Wayne, died in 1994, and a grandson also preceded her in death.
She was a member of St. Andrew's United Church of Christ and a
charter member of Mishawaka Pilot's Club.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Warner Funeral Home, Osceola. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
