SOUTH BEND - Evelyn M. Woodruff, 88,
of Monroe Street, died at 4 a.m. Tuesday in Miller's Merry Manor,
Plymouth. Mrs. Woodruff retired as a clerical worker for the
YWCA, Bay City, Mich. She was born July 16, 1907, in Edinburg,
Ind., and lived in South Bend since 1985.
On March 23, 1928, in Indianapolis, as
Evelyn M. Cotton, she married Ray I. Woodruff. He died May
19, 1966. She is survived by two sons, William of Henderson,
Nev., and Jack D. of Gaylord, Mich.; two grandchildren; two
sisters, Ruth A. Simonel of South Bend and Phyllis Bowser
of Indianapolis; and a brother, John Cotton of Indianapolis. She
was a member of Sunnyside Presbyterian Church.
Memorial services will be held at a later
date. Cremation will take place. Welsheimer Funeral Home is in
charge of arrangements
