SOUTH BEND - Mary R. Wood, 85, of Regency Place, formerly of South 27th Street, died at 9:50 p.m. Wednesday in Meridian Nursing Center-River Park. Mrs. Wood was born April 15, 1908, in Greentown, Ind., and lived in South Bend most of her life.

On June 22, 1933, in Kokomo, as Mary R. Mast, she married John C. Wood. He died April 25, 1982. She is survived by a son, Michael of South Bend; two grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and a sister, Audrey Beach of Indianapolis. She was a member of River Park United Methodist Church.

Services will be at 4 p.m. Friday in Hollis-Orvis-Palmer Funeral Home. Entombment will be Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Friends may call two hours before services in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
