SOUTH BEND - Hilda Fay Woodcox, 87, of Fairington Circle, died at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in Meridian Nursing Center-Cardinal after an illness. Mrs. Woodcox was born Jan. 3, 1908, in South Bend.

On Sept. 6, 1925, in South Bend, as Hilda Fay Nunemaker, she married Jonas Woodcox. He died March 25, 1980. Surviving are two daughters, Roma Acton of Mesquite, Texas, and Delores Wilmoski of South Bend; a son, Dick of Tempe, Ariz.; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Bertha Smith and Lou Berry, both of South Bend, Verda Downs of Walkerton and Marchie Williams of Concord, Calif. She was a member of South Side Church of God.

Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in the church. Cremation will take place, with burial in Southlawn Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
