James Delma Womack, 53, of New
Carlisle, Ind., died at 5:42 p.m. on Monday, March 12, in LaPorte
Hospital, LaPorte, Ind. He was born in Judsonia, Ark., on March
26, 1947, to Delma and Hazel Womack, with his father preceding
him in death. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Diana Brunson.
He had lived in the New Carlisle area for most of his life.
On Sept. 21, 1968, he married Sharon Gadacz,
who survives. He is also survived by one daughter, Rachael Womack
of New Carlisle; a son, Adam (Kimberly) Womack of South Bend,
Ind.; his mother, Hazel Brunson of South Bend; a brother, Roger
Womack of South Bend; four nieces, Sarah Womack of Indianapolis,
Ind., Angela Gadacz of Hobart, Ind., Valerie Gadacz of Hobart and
Capri Gadacz Leyshon of South Bend; and by four four-legged
grandchildren, Renne, Remi, Sheba and Layla.
James graduated from South Bend Central High
School, class of 1966. He has an industrial math degree from Acme
Institute of Technology of South Bend. He was a member of Union
Local #292, and served as vice president. He was a member of
American Legion Post #297 of New Carlisle, AARP, and was a
veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
Family and friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m.
on Thursday, March 15, in the ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 South
Mayflower Road, South Bend. Services will be held at 8 p.m. in
the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the
St. Jude Hospital for Children or to the charity of donor's
choice.
