WALKERTON - Max Wolfe, 86, of Walkerton, passed away April 12th
2010, after a brief illness. Mr. Wolfe was born on January 21st,
1924, in North Liberty, IN, to the late Charles and Edna (nee
Bulla) Wolfe. Max served in the United States Army during WW II
and was a member of VFW POST #1954, a life member of North
Liberty Lodge #266 F&AM, Scotish Rite and Shriners. Mr. Wolfe
retired in 1982 from Allis Chalmers in LaPorte with 30 years of
service. He joined the KC dance club in 1978, and also enjoyed
fishing and bowling. Max is survived by his sisters, Mary K.
Bowers of Yorba Linda, California, and June (John) Schulte of
Indianapolis, IN. Two nieces, Mary Lee (Larry) Stull of South
Bend, IN, and Marlene Radke of San Bernardino, CA. One nephew,
Chuck (Debbie) Bowers of Marble Falls, TX, and many great-nieces
and great-nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday,
April 17th, 2010, at 11 AM (EST) from the Nusbaum-Elkin Funeral
Home, 408 Roosevelt Road, Walkerton, with Rev. Charlotte Allen
officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Westlawn
Cemetery, North Liberty. Visitation will be on Friday, April
16th, 2010, from 4 to 8 PM in the funeral home, with a Masonic
service at 7 PM. Memorial contributions on behalf of Max are
preferred to the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, 112
South Center Street, Plymouth, IN 46563; to Shriners Hospital for
Children, 2211 North Oak Park Ave. Chicago, IL 60707; or to
Senior 1 Care, 920 East Wayne Street, South Bend, IN 46617.
