Jack J.D. Wolfe
March 15, 1927 - Jan. 16, 2002
Jack Joseph Daniel Wolfe, 74, of 3303 E.
Jefferson Blvd., formerly of 317 N. Hawthorne Drive, loving
husband, father and grandfather, departed this life at 7:50 a.m.
on Wednesday, Jan. 16, after an extended illness.
He was born to Jacob Dan-iel Wolfe and
Stella (Wisnieski) Wolfe on March 15, 1927, in South Bend, Ind.
He graduated from Central High School, class of 1945, attended
Purdue University, earning a B.A. in mechanical engineering in
1952 and then an MBA from Indiana University in 1973.
Jack served his country with the Armed
Forces from 1945-47, and returned home to marry Mary Joan
"Jo" Wendel on Aug. 14, 1948. She survives. He is also
survived by one daughter, Susan Marie Wolfe-Walters of Seymour,
Ind., and one son, Bruce Edward Wolfe of South Bend; two sisters,
Janet Hojara and Shirley Wolfe, both of South Bend; and by two
grandchildren, Silvaan and Brenan, both of South Bend.
He was preceded in death by four brothers,
Clement, George, James and Charles.
Jack was employed as a project engineer and
program supervisor with Allied Signal from 1955 until his
retirement on July 1, 1990. He served as president of both the
Active and Retirees Bendix/Allied Signal Management Clubs. Jack
was also a member of the Michiana Male Chorus for more than 40
years, a life member of the Elks (34 yrs.) and the Moose Lodge of
Elkhart (10 yrs.). Jack and Mary Jo attended St. Anthony dePadua
Parish for more than 35 years.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 8 p.m.
today, Jan. 18, in the HICKEY Funeral Home, 3516 E. Jefferson,
with funeral services at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, in St. Joseph
Catholic Church, 225 South Mill Street, Mishawaka, Ind. Burial
will follow at Highland Cemetery, South Bend.
Memorials may be made to the Kidney
Foundation and to the St. Joseph Heart Association.
