SOUTH BEND - Al W. Wojciechowski, 81,
of West Calvert Street, died at 9:28 a.m. Saturday in St.
Joseph's Medical Center after an illness. Mr. Wojciechowski was
employed by St. Joseph Cemetery and Hill Truck Sales and had
retired from Studebaker Corp. after 28 years. He was born May 23,
1912, in South Bend.
On June 22, 1946, in South Bend, he married
Cecila B. Podemski. She survives with three daughters,
Alicia Ford of Mishawaka, Mary Jane Kline of
Napoleon, Ohio, and Ann Skobrak of Grand Rapids; two sons,
Thomas J. and John M., both of Mishawaka; 14 grandchildren; a
great-granddaughter; three sisters, Mary Walbert and
Lottie Frank, both of South Bend, and Stephanie Smarts
of Mishawaka; and two brothers, Frank Walbert of New
Carlisle, and Marion Walbert of South Bend. He was an Army World
War II veteran and a member of American Legion Pulaski Post 357
and Our Lady of Hungary Catholic Church.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the
church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call
from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday in St. Joseph Funeral Home, where a
rosary will be said at 3:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be
made to any charity.
