SOUTH BEND - Stella C. Wlodarski, 94, passed away after a
brief illness on Saturday at 9:05 p.m. in Memorial Hospital.
Stella was a lifelong resident of South Bend, the daughter of
Anthony and Eleanor (Borowski) Wlodarski. Although part of
a large group of extended Wlodarski family members, Stella's
closest relatives were her two sisters, Mary (Jasinski)
and Dorothy (Koval), who both preceded her in death.
Stella was proud of her Polish heritage and enjoyed her friends
and her affiliations with her Catholic parishes and with the ZB
Polish Falcons. Stella was definitely from the old school. She
never owned or operated an automobile her entire life. Thanks to
Jean Jedrzejewski for being a terrific neighbor while
Stella lived on Gladstone. Stella spent the last several years of
her life at St. Paul's Retirement Community in the Assisted
Living section, and appreciation is given to the fine people and
caregivers at St. Paul's. A special thanks is due to Christine Parker,
Stella's longtime aide and friend, for her devotion and for
adding greatly to Stella's quality of life.
A funeral liturgy will be celebrated for
Stella at 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 3, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL
HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, South Bend. Friends and family may
call one hour before the services. Burial will follow at St.
Joseph Cemetery, South Bend. Memorial contributions may be made
to St. Adalbert Catholic Church.
