TUCSON, AZ - Bob Witucki, 73, died at 7:55 p.m. Wednesday,
January 13, 2010, at his daughter's home in Tucson, AZ. Bob was
born in South Bend, IN, the son of Bernie and Evelyn Witucki. He
had lived in Tucson, AZ, for the past 26 years. He was a very
gifted athlete, having played football at the University of Notre
Dame and Texas, and played for the Oakland Raiders in the NFL.
Bob worked at Tucson Estates Foothills as a real estate broker
and helped coordinate Senior Olympics activities there. Bob
deeply loved his Catholic faith, attending daily Holy Mass at San
Xavier Mission Catholic Church and school where he was a
catechist for many years. He also was a eucharistic minister
taking Holy Communion to the sick and the dying. He is survived
by his brother, Jack Witucki; sister, Judy Seifert; two
daughters, Bobbi (Tim), Kelli Carmichael (Grahm); four
grandchildren, Sierra and Eric Santacruz, Ian and Calvin
Carmichael; and former wife, Carole Arnett. Bob passed peacefully
surrounded by his family and close friends praying the Holy
Rosary after an eight-month battle with esophageal cancer. A Mass
of Christian Burial was held at San Zavier Mission on Friday Jan.
22, 2010, at 3 p.m. and additional Mass of Christian Burial will
be held at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Granger, on Friday, Feb.
5, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. Following the Mass of Christian Burial,
Bob will be buried at Riverview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers,
