MISHAWAKA - Waneta Wise, 74, residing on Berlin Street, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away at 8:25 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 6, at the home of her son. Mrs. Wise was born on Aug. 13, 1923, in Hammond, Ind., to the late Arthur and Lillian (Grinnel) DeForest, and had lived in this area most of her life.

She is survived by two daughters, Sandy Gordon of Charlotte, N.C., and Patty Seals of LaGrange, Ind.; two sons, Harold Lloyd Wise and John Wise, both of Mishawaka; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and by three sisters, Sharon Kline of Algonquin, Ill., Verna Turnpaugh of Coldwater, Mich., and Artis Stickney of Tekonsha, Mich. Mrs. Wise was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge 2083.

Services for Mrs. Wise will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday in the Hollis-Orvis-Palmer Funeral Home, 2528 Mishawaka Avenue. Brother Steve Nani, C.S.C., chaplain of Hospice, will officiate. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery, South Bend, Ind. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County.
