SOUTH BEND - Louise G. Windhorst, 89, of South Bend,
passed away Wednesday morning in her home with her loving family
with her. She was born July 16, 1918, in Greensbury, PA, to the
late Charles Geiger and Elizabeth Hudson.
On July 16, 1940, she married Ellsworth R.
Windhorst, who died in 1994. She is survived by her loving
children, Mary Lehman (Thomas) of South Bend and Edward
Windhorst (Carla) of Chicago, IL; three step-grandchildren,
Jason, Kevin and Jessica Lehman; and step-great-grandchild,
Madison Lehman. Also preceding her were her sister, Josephine Hauser,
and brother, George Geiger. Mrs. Windhorst was a member of Prince
of Peace Church of the Brethren and a former member of Epworth
Memorial United Methodist Church. She loved people and let them
know. The family wants to thank the Memorial Homecare aides for
their wonderful care over the years.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m.
Saturday, Feb. 2, with Pastor David Hendricks officiating and
burial will follow at Saint Joseph Valley Memorial Park. Friends
may call one hour prior to services in the Welsheimer Family
Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Road. Contributions may be
made in her memory to the Prince of Peace Church of the Brethren
or to The National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 7301 Georgetown
Road, Indianapolis, IN 46268.
