L. B., Leslie ''Bus'' Wiltfong, 81, of Mishawaka, Ind., died at 5:20 p.m. on Sunday, April 13, in his residence. He had been ill for the past six months. Born in South Bend, Ind., on Dec. 20, 1915, the son of Clara and Walter Wiltfong, he was a lifelong resident of St. Joseph County.

 

On April 22, 1953, Eileen Longbreak and Bus were married in South Bend. Eileen, his wife of 44 years, preceded him in death on March 24, 1997. L.B. was also preceded in death by his brother, Ralph. Bus was a pioneer in the moving industry dating back to the 1950s. He most recently founded Wiltfong Moving and Storage of Mishawaka, and retired in the late 80s. L.B. was member of the Mannechor Club, the South Bend Elks Lodge and the South Bend Moose Lodge.

 

He is survived by his son, Bill of Elkhart, Ind.; three daughters, Carol Kizmits of South Bend, Nancy Harness of New Carlisle, Ind., and Sherrie Allen of Chandler, Ariz; and by 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

 

Friends may visit the Hickey Funeral Home on Jefferson Boulevard from 4 to 8 p.m. today.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday. Additional visitation will be held in the funeral home one hour prior to the funeral services. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park. Contributions in memory of Leslie Wiltfong may be made to the St. Joseph County Hospice.
