Ila H. Wiltfong, 80, of South Arch Street in New Carlisle, Ind., passed away after an illness Tuesday, June 5, in her home. Ila was born Aug. 18, 1920, in St. Joseph County, Ind., to the late Clyde and Anna (Brown) Hay. She had been employed by Easy Heat in New Carlisle.
On Dec. 15, 1940, as Ila H. Hay, she married Albert W. Wiltfong, who preceded her in death April 28, 1990. She was also preceded in death by sisters, Anna Hay and Eris Newcomer; and by brothers, Phillip, Howard, Orville and Roy Hay. She is survived by five daughters, Betty (Jerry) Bradley, Nancy (Ron) Osborn, Ila May (Jack) Curl, Pamela Wiltfong and Gladys "Sue" Wiltfong, all of New Carlisle; two sons, Charles (Cathleen) Wiltfong and Michael (Joan) Wiltfong, both of New Carlisle; 16 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Hazel (Alex) Kulwicki and Myrtle Torma, both of New Carlisle; two brothers, Russell (Trula) Hay of Sevirville, Tenn., and George (Dee) Hay of Plant City, Fla.; and by sisters-in-law, Mildred Hay and Esther Hay of South Bend, and Louise Hay of Niles, Mich.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, June 6, in the KANIEWSKI Funeral Home, 201 S. Filbert Street, New Carlisle. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 7, in the funeral home, with burial to follow at New Carlisle Cemetery. Mrs. Wiltfong loved to sew and shared this with her family.
