SOUTH BEND - Mayme Wilson, 98, died peacefully in her
sleep on Thursday morning, Nov. 20, 2008, in her daughter's home
in South Burlington, VT. Born in Annapolis, Illinois, on June 16,
1910, formerly from South Bend, IN, and Mission, TX, she was the
daughter of the late Hugh W. and Elfie (Faught) Smith.
On May 20, 1934, she married Alexander S. Wilson, who predeceased
her. He was the former track and cross country coach at the
University of Notre Dame and was a two-time Olympic runner. Her
son, William A. Wilson, also predeceased her. Surviving her are
her daughter, Patricia Fastiggi, and her husband, Richard
of South Burlington, VT; her grandchildren, William Fastiggi and
his partner, Susan Coburn of Winooski, VT, Richard
Fastiggi and his partner, Rebecca Sidway of Riverside, RI,
Beth Fastiggi and her husband, Patrick Standen of
Burlington, VT, Kathleen and her husband, Eric Stengel of
Arnold, MD, Barbara and her husband, Kurt Bosselman of
Seattle, WA; and her great-grandchildren, Corey, Kate and
Christopher Stengel, Alexander and Jemma Bosselman; her son,
Richard Wilson, and his wife, Judie of Mercer, WI; and her
grandchildren, Rachelle and her husband, Christopher Kelly
of Hurley, WI, Victoria Roach of Fitchburg, WI, Richard
and his wife, Kerry Wilson of Marshall, MI, and Michelle Wilson
of Waukegan, IL; her great-grandchildren, Erica and her husband,
Michael Monroe, Shane Alvey, Amanda Alvey, Alexa,
Regan and Devin Kelly, Darby Jo and Jacob Roach, Riley and Mara
Wilson; and her great-great-grandchild, Bailey Ann Monroe; and
her son, Robert Wilson and his wife, Barbara Jagiello of
Alameda, CA.
Services are being held in Osceola, IN, in the Chapel Hill Funeral Home on December 1, 2008.
