Sister M. Franceline CSC, 57, died early
today in the Bishop Noll Convent in Hammond, Ind., where she had
been stationed for the last year. She was born Anna Elizabeth
Williams on April 15, 1909 in Montgomery, Ind., where she
received her education in Montgomery schools, and after
graduation from high school she entered the Sisters of the Holy
Cross. She received the habit in 1927 and made her profession of
vows in 1929. She was a graduate of St. Mary’s College and
received her master of arts degree from the University of Notre
Dame. She had taught in Ventura, Calif.; Morris, Cairo, Harvard
and Woodstock in Illinois; Michigan City and Anderson in Indiana;
and South Bend at Holy Cross and St. Joseph Grade School and St.
Mary’s Academy.
The requiem high mass will be offered in
Hammond Tuesday morning. The body will be brought to St. Mary’s
Convent Tuesday where friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Services
will be at 6 a.m. Wednesday in the Church of Our Lady of Loretto
at St. Mary’s College and burial will be in Our Lady of
Peace Cemetery on the campus.
