Loving Memory of Mrs. Sally Jane Grisson Williams
Mrs.
Sally Jane Grisson Williams, 102, expired on Saturday, Feb. 21,
in the Northwood Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
She
was born on Oct. 14, 1895, in Macon, Miss.
On
June 30, 1939, she married Johnny Williams, who preceded her in
death in 1944. She was also preceded in death by her children,
Sally English and Seabe Gavin; three sisters, Fannie Maeweather,
Mattie Lowery and Kittie Showers; three brothers, Sam Grisson,
Alonzo Grisson and Phillip Grisson; and by two grandchildren.
Mrs.
Williams had been a head chef at Smoke's Tavern and Restaurant
for 17 years. She later opened her own restaurant, where she
operated for 25 years.
For
many years before her confinement, she was a faithful member of
the Grace A.M.E. Zion Church.
She
is survived by a sister, Margaret Grisson of Springfield, Ohio;
six nieces, Jill Fuller, Hattie Showers, Linda Winston, Augusta
Page, Aretha Harris and Georgiana Jamison; and by seven
grandchildren and a host of great- and great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation
will from noon to 2 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m.
on Friday at the Grace A.M.E. Zion Church. Burial will be at Riverview
Cemetery
