SOUTH BEND - Mattie Williams, 82, of 1507 Fassnacht St., died Monday morning in her home. Mrs. Williams was born May 7, 1913, in Louisville, Miss., and lived in South Bend since 1949.
Her husband, Obie Williams, died in 1978. She is survived by a stepdaughter, Bertha Lee Underwood of New Orleans; a stepson, James Austin of South Bend; two nieces, Alberta Sears of Memphis, Tenn., and Rose Ashford of South Bend; and two cousins, Appolonia Henderson and J.T. Gross, both of South Bend. She was a member of Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in the church. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call one hour before services in the church. Clark's Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
