PLYMOUTH Linda L. Williams,
after a courageous two-year battle with cancer, died at 7 a.m. on
Thursday, March 2, 2000, in Saint Joseph's Regional Medical
Center, South Bend. She was 51 years old. Linda had been a
resident of Plymouth since 1985, coming from South Bend. She
lived at 11732 4A Road.
She was born in South Bend, the daughter of
George Oscar Quick, Sr., and Betty Jane Chamberlain
Quick on November 5, 1948. Linda attended St. Mary's Elementary
School and graduated from Clay High School, both of South Bend.
On September 29, 1985, Linda and John F. Williams were married in
South Bend. She was a homemaker and was also employed for 12
years at the Blue Lantern and 5 years at the Royal Cafe, both in
Mishawaka.
An active, vibrant woman, she enjoyed golf.
A good bowler, she and her husband participated in the Mixed
Bowling League in Bremen. Picture and crossword puzzles were a
favorite pastime.
Linda is survived by her husband, John and
by four sons and a daughter. Her sons are: Jeffrey D. and Kelly Ruth
and John M. and Sheila Ruth, all of Elkhart, Brent Williams and
John Fred Williams II and Tracey, all of Plymouth. Her daughter,
Jonna S. and Ben McCarty of Dallas, Texas, also survive.
Eleven grandchildren survive as well. They
are: Nathan R., DeLeslie A., Cassidy N., Dianna R., and Michael
S. Ruth, all of Elkhart, Ind., Aaron, Jamie and Dillon McCarty,
all of Dallas, Texas and Johnathon, Jordan and Jacob Williams,
all of Plymouth, Ind. Victoria Williams, Linda's mother-in-law of
Plymouth, survives together with four sisters and six brothers.
Her sisters are Ruthanne and Michael Brown, South Bend,
Ind., Nancy and Howard Koscher, Punta Gorda, Fla.,
Kathleen Bird, Mishawaka, Ind., and Amy Radics,
Winchester, Tenn. Her surviving brothers are: George and Joseph
Quick, both of South Bend, David and Karen Quick, Osceola, Ind.,
James and Judith Quick, Niles, Mich., Paul and Debbie Quick,
Charlotte, N.C., and Peter Quick, Elkhart, Ind. Twenty-three
nieces and nephews and eighteen great-nieces and nephews survive
as well. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, a son,
Christopher A., a brother, Barry, two nephews and one niece.
Friends may visit with the family on
Saturday, March 4, 2000, from 3 to 8 p.m. in the
Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth.
The funeral service, conducted by the Rev. Paul Salyers, will be
in the funeral home on Sunday, March 5, 2000, at 11 a.m. Burial
will be in New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth. Memorial gifts in
Linda's memory may be made to the American Cancer Research Fund.
