Joseph E. Williams, 48, of East 4th Street, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away at 6 p.m. on Sunday evening, March 1, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend, Ind. He was a lifetime Michiana resident. Mr. Williams was born on July 19, 1949, in Mishawaka.
He leaves behind his mother, Marie (Weinkauf) Williams of Mishawaka, and his father, Troy Williams of Madisonville, Ky.; three sisters, Linda J. Pickard of Citrus Heights, Calif., Theresa Williams of South Bend and Diane Moran of Berwyn, Pa.; four brothers, Thomas K. Williams of Inkom, Idaho, James T. Williams of Omaha, Neb., David Williams and Michael Williams, both of Mishawaka. He was preceded in death by his two grandmothers, Lilla Snyder and Opal Weinkauf; his two grandfathers, Harry Snyder and Joseph Weinkauf; and by a sister, Cynthia Ward on Sept. 9, 1974. Mr. Williams graduated from Mishawaka High School in 1967. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mishawaka.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. on Friday in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mishawaka, with Rev. Robert Yast officiating. Cremation will take place after the service. Mr. Williams' final resting place will be in St. Joseph Cemetery by his sister, Cynthia Ward. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. on Thursday in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. Eighth Street, Mishawaka. A Rosary will be recited at 4 p.m. on Thursday in the funeral home. Jefferson, South Bend, IN 46601.
