SOUTH BEND - Former South Bend resident John Conrad Williams, 78,
of Belleair, FL, died Saturday, January 2, 2010, in Morton Plant
Hospital, Clearwater, FL, following a lengthy illness. Mr.
Williams was born September 17, 1931, in South Bend, to the late
Mabel G. (Burgoyne) and Harold Conrad Williams, and had lived in
South Bend for 55 years. He is survived by his wife, Juanita N.
"Netse" (Wuthrich); two sons, Mark C. Williams
(Michelle) of Port Washington, WI, and Bryan P. Williams of
Mishawaka, IN; and three grandchildren, Corinne, Kyle C. and
Allison Williams. He was preceded in death by a sister, Phyllis
Ayres. John had been employed as credit manager for The
Associates, then was associated with E. Lowitz Newhard Cook
Stockbrokers and Olde Discount Brokers in Seminole, FL. He was a
graduate of Florida Southern College, Lakeland, FL. He was a
member of the former Indiana Club of South Bend, the Pickwick
Club in Niles, MI, The Associates Men's Club, Izaak Walton
League, and was local and national president of Mercator Clubs of
America. He was given the title of Honorary Kentucky Colonel and
was a member of BPOE, Holiday Isles, FL, and was an associate
member of BPOE, Brevard, NC. He was also a member of the
Connestee Falls Fishing Club in North Carolina, and a proud
member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. Funeral services will
be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 8th, in the Welsheimer
Family Funeral Home, 521 N. William St., with Rev. David Schrader
of Grace United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow
at Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 until 7 p.m.
Thursday, January 7th, in the funeral home. Memorial
