SOUTH BEND - Frederick S. Williams, 78, of South Bend, passed
away at 12:45 a.m. Monday, October 5, 2009, in his home. Mr.
Williams was born May 6, 1931, in Lake Worth, FL, to the late
William Henry and Emma Estelle (Johnson) Williams. Fred married
the former Sue Ann Hostetler in Dothan, AL, on April 30, 1959.
Mr. Williams worked as a maintenance supervisor for 12 years at
Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, FL. Prior to that he
worked 20 years for Montgomery Ward. He was an accomplished
carpenter. He served his country during the Korean War with the
United States Navy. Mr. Williams also attended the Kingdom Hall
of Jehovah's Witnesses in Mishawaka. In addition to his wife,
Sue, Fred is survived by four sons, Michael W. (Dawn) Williams of
Apple Valley, MN, Tracy A. (Geneva) Williams of Espanola, NM,
Christopher L. (Diana) Williams of Mishawaka and Kelly D. (Noel)
Williams of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; six grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret J. Agnew and Kittie
Wilson; and two brothers, John E. Williams and William E.
Williams. Fred was preceded in death by seven brothers and
sisters. Funeral services for Mr. Williams will be at 1:00 p.m.
Saturday, October 10, 2009, in the Palmer Funeral Home-Hickey
Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend, IN, where friends may
visit from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. Elder Ronald Pinter will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mr. Williams may be
made to the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., 111
