Mrs. Alline Williams, 91, beloved
mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt, who
resided on Sprucewood Lane, South Bend, Ind., entered into
eternal rest at 5:45 a.m. Friday, Aug. 3, in Saint Joseph Care
Center West, after an extended illness. Alline, daughter of the
late Johnny and Julia (Govan) Johnson, was born in
Helena, Ark., on July 22, 1910. At the age of 12 she confessed
Christ and was baptized in St. Gillian Baptist Church.
In 1930 she and Cornelius Williams were
united in wedlock. In 1942 they moved to Detroit, Mich. In
Detroit she was a member of St. James Baptist Church. She moved
to South Bend in 1992, where she lived until her death. She was
also preceded in death by her husband, Cornelius, and by eight
siblings. Family members who will cherish her memory include a
daughter, Lillian Williams; one grandson, Kelvin Williams; a
great-grandson, Alin Williams, all of South Bend; two sisters,
Julia (James) Patton of Belleville, Mich., and Ruby Kemp
of Detroit; along with a host of nieces and nephews.
Services for Mrs. Williams will be held at
12 noon on Tuesday in Alford's Mortuary, where friends may call
one hour prior to the service.
