MISHAWAKA - Richard L. Wilken, 70, formerly of Mishawaka,
died Monday, March 12, 2007, in Lakeland Continuing Care
Center in St. Joseph, Michigan. He was born in Mishawaka
on July 5, 1936, to Wilbur C. and Albina J. (Ebel) Wilken
Sr. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, a
sister, Julia R. Skene, and by a brother, Louis Wilken.
He is survived by a brother, Wilbur C. (Sue) Wilken Jr.
of St. Joseph, MI; two nieces, Dawn (Larry) Pallas of
Portage, Michigan, and Karen Deisinger of Dowagiac; two
nephews, David (Joanne) Wilken of Wauwatosa, WI, and
Kevin Wilken of Mishawaka. He is also survived by several
great-nieces and nephews. Richard had formerly worked at
Uniroyal, and was sent to Germany to help start a new
plant for Uniroyal. Richard was a member of St. Peter
Lutheran Church. Friends may visit with the family from 4
to 7 p.m. today, March 13th. Funeral services will be
held in the St. Peter Lutheran Church at noon on
Wednesday, March 14th, with Rev. Bryan Borger
officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer
Society or to the Mishawaka F.O.P.
