John J. Wilhelm

John J. Wilhelm, 1353 E Donald St., died early today in the Veterans’ Administration Hospital in Fort Wayne.  He was born in Centre Twp., Nov. 25, 1897. 

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Frank G. Taelman Jr., and a sister, Mrs. Lester Zeigler, both of South Bend.  Mr. Wilhelm was a greens keeper at the Studebaker golf course.  Friends may call after 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Hickey Funeral Home.

Funeral services for John J. Wilhelm, 1353 E. Donald St., who died Monday in the Veterans’ Administration Hospital, Fort Wayne, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Matthew’s Catholic Church with Rev. Arnold J. Wibbert, pastor, officiating.  Burial will be in Southlawn Cemetery. 

Mr. Wilhelm was a member of the Holy Name Society of the church.  Members of the society will recite the rosary at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Hickey Funeral Home. 

He was also a member of Post 50, American Legion, and the 40 & 8 Chateau.  Military rites will be conducted at the Cemetery by members of Post 50.
