WALKERTON - Julia Wiktorowski, 86, recently of Goshen, IN, and
lifelong resident of Walkerton, passed away peacefully in the
presence of God and her loving family at 4:55 a.m. Monday,
January l8, 2010, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend, after a
courageous two-year battle with cancer. Preceded in death by her
loving husband, Eddie of 66 years, Julia leaves behind two
children, Judy (Butch) Johnson and Steve (Donna) Wiktorowski,
both of Goshen. Born in South Bend June 10, 1923, to Michael and
namesake Julia Molnar, she leaves behind two sisters, Elsie of
South Bend and Helen of Plymouth. On August 29, 1942, Julia was
united in marriage to Edgar Wiktorowski at Holy Trinity Episcopal
Church where they remained lifelong parishioners. It was here
Julia served as an active member on the church's Altar Guild.
Julia was an avid gardener, the love of which she inherited from
her mother. Her family will always cherish memories of her many
talents which included her flair for creative floral design, tole
painting, Hungarian Keeflies, and her loving touch in the
creation of handsewn crafts and clothing. Julia's love for her
grandchildren, Michael, Michele, Shawn, Juli, Troy and Erin, was
apparent by her always generous praise, support and attendance at
their numerous activities and interests. Her love continued to
flow to her great-grandchildren, Erica, Collin, Brooke-Lynn,
Noah, Andrew, Hannah, Allison, Brooke, Tiffany, Tonya, Summer and
Sierra, and most recently a great-great-grandson, Jacob
Christian. Julia was preceded in death by her parents, Michael
and Julia, and siblings, Mike, John, Joe, Eugene, Andrew, Sophie,
Lou, Frank, Marge and Steve. Funeral services will be held at 11
a.m. on Thursday, January 21st, in the Palmer Funeral
Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 South Michigan Street, South Bend,
IN. Rev Tina Velthuizen will officiate. Graveside services will
follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may visit with
the family from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, January 20th, in the funeral
home, and one hour prior to services on Thursday, also in the
funeral home. Contributions in memory of Julia Wiktorowski may be
