Mr. Thomas J. Wiegand, 43, of Osceola, Ind., died of an apparent heart attack at 6:04 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 10, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend, Ind. He was born on Nov. 27, 1956, in Cleveland, Ohio, to James T. Wiegand and Joyce Piten.

 

He is survived by his mother; his wife, Cynthia A. Ginter, who he married on Aug. 10, 1991; stepdaughter, Pamela J. Ginter of Osceola; stepson, Timothy J. Ginter, a student at Purdue University; and by three brothers, Michael J. of San Diego, Calif., Joseph J. and Steven A., both of South Bend.

 

He was an owner of Wiegand's Service Center in South Bend and was a former owner of Wiegand's Amoco Station. He was a member of the Michiana MOPAR car club, a muscle car enthusiast, and was a member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, and taught part-time at Ivy Tech in the automotive department.

 

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 14, in the WELSHEIMER FUNERAL HOME NORTH , 17033 Cleveland Road, with the Rev. Mr. Stephen Kempinger, C.S.C., officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4 to 8 p.m. today, Oct. 13, in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
