SOUTH BEND - Mary M. Wiegand, 93, of Patty Lane, died at 12:55 p.m. Tuesday in Regency Place. Mrs. Wiegand was a former secretary at the Bendix Corp. She was born Sept. 2, 1901, in Sauktown, and was a lifelong area resident.

In South Bend, as Mary M. Wiltfong, she married Alford E. Starkweather. He preceded her in death. She is survived by two nieces, Velva Blackburn of Phoenix and Doris Kanouse of Mishawaka; and two nephews, Herbert Riedel of South Bend and Leslie Wiltfong of Mishawaka. She was a member of Zion United Church of Christ.

Graveside services and burial will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka. There will be no visitation. Hollis-Orvis-Palmer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County Inc. or the church.
