Jerry A. Wiegand, 57, residing on Sycamore Road, Walkerton, Ind., passed away from natural causes at 8:06 p.m. on Wednesday, May 12, in the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth Campus, in the emergency room. Mr. Wiegand was the owner and operator of the Wiegand Construction Company and was also self-employed in farming. He was born on June 15, 1941, in South Bend, Ind., and had been a lifelong area resident.

On Dec. 3, 1961, in St. Joseph County, Ind., he married June M. Brant, who survives. He is also survived by three sons, James A. Wiegand of Walkerton, Jason E. (Carla) Wiegand of Walkerton, and Jonathan J. (Sherri) Wiegand of North Liberty, Ind.; five grandchildren, Alyssa, Tyler, Phillip, Ashley, and McKenzie; his parents, Ernest and Ruth Wiegand of South Bend; and by two sisters, Georgiana Fuchs of Lakeville, Ind. and Kathleen Bennett of Jacksonville, Fla. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Danny, Dennis, and Thomas Wiegand.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 15, in the Palmer Funeral Home, 314 S. Michigan Street, Lakeville. Rev. David Inskeep, pastor of the Tyner United Methodist Church, will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Walkerton. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 14, at the Palmer Funeral Home, Lakeville.
