MISHAWAKA - John P. Wickham, 72, of Warrensburg, NY, and
formerly of Mishawaka, Indiana, passed away after an extended
illness on Saturday, May 24, 2008, in Glens Falls Hospital. John
was born August 28, 1935, and had resided in Mishawaka, IN, until
1970 before moving to Florida and recently to New York. He was a
veteran of the Army in the Korean Conflict, enlisting in the
service on January 21, 1955, and returned from overseas on Jan.
9, 1958. He served three years and three months in the 584th
Transport Company as an expert in carbine. John served his
Reserve time and was honorably discharged from the Army on Dec.
31, 1962.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49
years, Paula (Krick) Wickham; his loving daughter, Kathe Wendell,
and her husband, Frederick of Chestertown; a stepson, Leon A. DeMeulenaere
of Las Vegas, NV; his father, Paul Wickham; a brother, Ed
Wickham; a sister, Karen Keena, and her husband, JB, all
of Plantation, FL; a brother, David Wickham, and his wife, Pam of
Osceola, IN; a sister, Joyce Vogel; and a sister-in-law, Kay
Wickham of South Bend, IN. John was preceded in death by his
mother, Ellen Wickham; a brother, Kit Wickham; and a stepson,
Charles DeMeulenaere. He was a loving husband, father, son and
brother who will be greatly missed.
Services will be private and at the
convenience of the family. There are no calling hours scheduled.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the CR Wood Cancer
Center, 102 Park Street, Glens Falls, NY 12801
