MRS. DANIEL W. WHITMER
  Mrs. Dorothy R. Whitmer, 64, of 1229 N. Meade St., was dead on
arrival at 8:30 p.m. Sunday in Memorial Hospital after suffering an
apparent heart attack in her home.  She was born on Sept. 26, 1901, in
Lydick, residing here her lifetime.  She was married on Jule 24, 1929,
In South Bend, to Daniel W. Whitmer, who survives.  Also surviving are
a daughter, Mrs. Carolyn Hughes, of Windsor, Ont., two grandchildren;
a brother, Frederick Straup, of South Bend; and two sisters, Mr.
Gertrude Peterson of South Bend and Mrs. Josephine Funk of Phoenix,
Ariz.  Friends may call after 7 p.m. today in the welsheimer Funeral
Home.  She was a member of Epworth Memorial Methodist Church, Chapter
2, Order of Eastern Star, and the South Bend Shrine Auxiliary.
