               Lonnie A. Whitfield; Oct. 26, 1889 – Dec. 12, 1947.

               Lonnie A. Whitfield, aged 58, of 810 East Indiana Avenue, South Bend, Ind., died at 6:50 p.m. Friday in Memorial Hospital.  He was born in Hopkins County, Kentucky, Oct. 26, 1889, and came here in 1942 from Mortons Gap, Ky.  He married Effie Withers in Kentucky.  Mr. Whitfield was employed by the Studebaker Corporation.  Surviving are the widow; six sons, Woodburne, Raymond, Quentin, Strother and Franklin, all of South Bend, and Everett J. of Niles, Mich.; two grandchildren and six sisters in Kentucky.  The body will be sent from the Hay funeral home at 5 p.m. today to the Reid funeral home, Mortons Gap, for funeral services there Sunday afternoon.  Burial will be in the Salem cemetery, Mortons Gap.
