Violet "Jackie" May White,
77, of Lobo Avenue in Mesa, Ariz., passed away at 3:51 p.m.
Saturday, Feb. 2, in Valley Lutheran Hospital, Mesa. Jackie was
born on Oct. 9, 1924, in South Bend, Ind., to Elmer E. and Leota
P. (Swartz) Reynolds, who both have preceded her in
death. She was preceded in death by a sister, Lorraine Kisseleff
on Oct. 26, 1963, in South Bend.
Jackie married Clifford O. White, who also
preceded her in death on Feb. 12, 2000. Jackie leaves to cherish
her memories her nieces, Denise Ardiuno of Horsham, Pa.,
and Nadine Kisseleff of Somerset, Pa. Jackie was a graduate of
Washington High School in South Bend, the class of 1942. She
served her country in the Army as a staff sergeant from
1944-1946. From 1946-1957, she was a professional ballroom dancer
and dance instructor where she appeared on South Bend and Chicago
TV. She toured the Eastern U.S. with her parents, Bob Jolly as
"The Jollie." In 1949 she received her B.S. degree from
Indiana University. From 1957-1962, she was a business education
teacher at Washington High School in South Bend. From 1968-1986,
Jackie was a business education teacher at Arvada West High
School in Jefferson County, Colo. In 1966 Jackie received her
M.B.E. from the University of Colorado. In 1986 Jackie retired
and, in 1989, she moved to Mesa.
Funeral services were held in the Chapel
Hill Funeral Home and interment followed at Chapel Hill Memorial
Gardens, Osceola, Ind. Memorial donations may be made to the
American Lung Association or to the charity of donor's choice.
