Frederick D. Whitcomb, 64, of Fish Lake, Ind., died Friday, Feb. 1, in his residence. He was born on April 9, 1937, in Kalamazoo, Mich., to Walter and Anne (Trace) Whitcomb.

On Jan. 11, 1980, he married Margaret "Peggy" Getts in South Bend, Ind. She survives. He is also survived by three daughters, Channtee (Rodney) Wilson of Huntertown, Ind., Cherrann (Lane) Bailey of Orem, Utah, and Mari Caylor of Chicago, Ill.; a son, Jon (Lucy) Whitcomb, who is in the Navy, stationed at Sigonella, Sicily; one granddaughter and one grandson of Utah; one grandson of Chicago; and by a sister, Lanaya (George) Hurlbutt of Venice, Fla.

Mr. Whitcomb was employed in maintenance at Sibleys Machine Shop for 35 years, and was a member of the Fish Lake Property Owners Association, Fish Lake Conservation Club and the UAW. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

There will be no services or visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Marshall County, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637-3437.
