Vera A. (Hutchinson) Wheeler, 94, of Whitehall Drive, formerly of St. Joseph Towers, died Sunday evening, Jan. 27, in Healthwin Hospital. Vera was a telephone operator in Providence, R.I., for many years. She was born Oct. 1, 1907, in Providence to Berdette E. and Mary Dolores (Jackson) Hutchinson, who preceded her in death. On Sept. 26, 1931, in Providence, she married Frank Wheeler, who died May 29, 1961.She is survived by a daughter, Frances (Ted) Douglas of South Bend, Ind.; a son, Perry D. Wheeler of Cranston, R.I.; and by five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held Monday in St. Stephen's Church in Providence. Burial will follow at North Burial Ground in Providence. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, in the HICKEY Funeral Home, 3516 E. Jefferson Blvd. (289-1000).
