SOUTH BEND - Mr. Roy Lee Weston, 74,
beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, who resided on
North St. Louis Boulevard, South Bend, Ind., passed away
following a brief illness at 9:54 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 7, in
St. Joseph's Medical Center, South Bend. On Aug. 17, 1924, he was
born in Hopkinsville, Ky. Coming from Louisville, Ky., in the
1950s, he moved to South Bend.
Earlier this year he retired from the Morris
Park Country Club after 41 years of employment.
In 1981 he was united in holy matrimony to
Juanita Moten, who survives. He is also survived by a
daughter, Candy Weston, and one grandchild, J.R. Weston, both of
Louisville; six stepchildren, Anna Newbill, Ramona Cashier,
Edith Bullock and Regina Cruthird, all of South
Bend, Coretta Buck and Emanuel McKnight, both of
Clarksville, Tenn.; a sister, Catherine Weston of Hopkinsville,
Ky.; two nephews, Aaron Weston and Mike Henderson, both of
South Bend; two nieces and one great-granddaughter, Heaven
Cruthird, all of South Bend; along with other friends and
relatives. He was preceded in death by a son, Darryl Weston.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on
Monday, Oct. 12, at Alford's Mortuary. Visitation is from one
hour prior to services in the funeral home.
