SOUTH BEND - Mrs. Dorothy West, 86, of Ellsworth Place,
departed this life on Sunday, December 21, in the Cardinal
Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after a lengthy illness.
Dorothy was born on October 15, 1922, in San Antonio, TX. She was
married to Willis West in 1953 in South Bend. She was a member of
the New Hope Baptist Church for many years where she served on
the Usher Board and was a faithful attendee of Sunday School. She
leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband, Willis West; a
stepdaughter, Joyce Ann Johnson, and her husband, James of
Portland, Oregon; along with six grandchildren. She was preceded
in death by her mother, Alberta McHenry.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Friday, Dec. 26, in New Hope Baptist Church, with Prophetess Sandra Stubbs officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the services in the church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Alford's Mortuary.
