Stanley J. Wesolowski, 85, of Dunham, South Bend, Ind., passed away after an extended illness at 1:45 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 2, in Hospice House. He was born on June 6, 1917, in South Bend, to Nick and Nettie (Cwidak) Wesolowski, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Denise Wesolowski; and by a great-grandson, Ricky Scott.

On June 18, 1938, in St. Casimir Catholic Church, Stanley married Marie Jozwiak. He is survived by his wife, Marie; five children, Kathleen (Ervin) Machowiak, Ronald (Sandra) Wesolowski, Robert (Beverly) Wesolowski, Lawrence (Velda) Wesolowski and Cynthia (Ronald) Wood; 11 grandchildren, Patti Scott, John (Susan) Machowiak, Brian (Melissa) Machowiak, Jayne (Steve) Smith, Daren (Dawn) Wesolowski, Ann Wesolowski, Stacey (Clem) Borkowski, Brent Wesolowski, Jeff (Tamie) Wesolowski, Aaron Wood and Amanda Wood; one step-grandchild, Ronald (Angie) Wood; great-grandchildren, Randy Scott, Ryan Scott, Shelby Scott, Ashlee Machowiak, Devin Machowiak, Dayna Machowiak, April Smith, Jessica Smith and Emily Smith; step-great-grandchildren, Cailin Wood, Akira Wood and Sonja Wood; and by a great-great-granddaughter, Alyssa Scott.

Stanley worked at Studebaker and retired from AM General in 1979. He was a lifelong parishioner of St. Adalbert’s Church and a member of St. Joseph Young Men's Society. He was also a member of Polka Singers of Michiana.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, Dec. 4, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road. Wake service will be at 5 p.m. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 5, in St. Adalbert’s Catholic Church. Burial will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery.
