Marcel A. Werbrouck, 75, of South Spring Street, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away after an illness at 12:03 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 3, in his residence. Mr. Werbrouck was born on Dec. 3, 1924, in Mishawaka as the son of the late Julius and Maria (Cortvriendt) Werbrouck. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Julius Werbrouck on May 28, 1995.
On March 6, 1980, in Mishawaka, he married the former Jacqueline Stringer. Mr. Werbrouck is survived by his wife of 20 years, Jackie; a daughter, Kristie (Joe) Klaybor of Vandalia, Mich.; three stepdaughters, Cassie Reese of Carmel, Ind., Beth (Doug) Dokey of Buchanan, Mich., and Theresa (Jeff) Lundquist of Minneapolis, Minn.; Two stepsons, Drennon (Martha) Stringer of Greensboro, N.C., and Mark (Terri) Stinger of Prescott, Ariz.; a sister, Clare (Ken) Kaufman of Manchester, Mo., along with many loving step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Mr. Werbrouck was a general foreman at the former Dodge for 32 years and retired in 1982. He was a member of the B-K club, a World War II Army veteran and a member of the V.F.W. Post #360 in Mishawaka, a member of the American Legion Post #308, Osceola, as Well as a member of the Quarter Century Club at Dodge.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 5, in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 West 8th Street, Mishawaka., with a wake prayer service to be held at 3:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 6, in St. Bavo's Catholic church, Mishawaka, Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka. Memorial contributions in memory of Mr. Werbrouck may be made to, Hospice of St. Joseph County, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637-3437.
