MISHAWAKA - Catherine Marie Wensits, 46, of Mystique Drive, died at 6:15 p.m., Monday, in Memorial Hospital, after an illness. Mrs. Wensits was employed by Teachers Credit Union, South Bend, as a loan officer. She was born on Dec. 16, 1949, in Evanston, Ill. On Oct. 3, 1970, in McHenry, Ill., as Catherine M. Palmer, she married George D. Pope of Ballston, N.Y. They were divorced.

On Nov. 27, 1987, in South Bend, she married James E. Wensits. He survives with a daughter, Christina Pope at home; three stepdaughters, Cheryl Lightfoot of Toledo, Ohio, Kristin Hough of Elkhart, Ind. and Amy Wensits of South Bend; a stepson, John of South Bend; four grandchildren; her father, Harold Palmer of McHenry, Ill.; and three brothers, Sherwood Palmer of Woodstock, Ill., Martin Palmer of McHenry, and Lawrence Palmer of Wadsworth, Ill. Her mother, Margaret Giannini Palmer preceded her in death in November of 1987.

Services will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, in Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, Ind. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m., today, in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County, Inc.
