Gertrude B. Wenger, 92, formerly of Panama Street, Mishawaka, Ind., died at 10 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 28, in Indian River Hospital, Vero Beach, Fla. Gertrude was born in South Bend, Ind., on April 7, 1905, to George and Martha Ann (Flowers) Britz, and had lived in this area most of her life, moving to Florida in 1985.

She married John Wenger on June 29, 1935, in Mishawaka. He preceded her in death on Feb. 19, 1958. Gertrude is survived by her daughter, Vetrece Jones of Vero Beach; a son, Eugene DeBowe of Mishawaka; a sister, Edith Harter of Elkhart, Ind.; and by 18 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday in the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka. Committal services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Mausoleum Chapel at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka, with Rev. Randy Kulp officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
