Sister Mary Renfrieda CSC, 94, of St. Mary’s Convent died Wednesday afternoon in the convent after an extended illness. She was born Sept. 20, 1877 in Wallen, Bohemia, and as Justina Welthich, she entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross on Sept. 29 1904, coming from Bohemia. She made her profession of vows on Aug. 15, 1907. She served in several hospital laundries in South Bend, Iadho and Utah, including St. Joseph Hospital in South Bend.

Friends may call Thursday and Friday in the Convent parlors, where a rosary will be said at 7:15 p.m. Friday. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Our Lady of Loretto Church, and burial will be in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery at St. Mary’s.
