November 18, 1953 – April 19, 1982

Peggy Welter, 28, of Bonn, West Germany, formerly of South Bend, died Monday in West Germany after a brief illness. 

She was born on November 18, 1953, in South Bend and lived in the South Bend area most of her life until recently moving to West Germany.  She was affiliated with a professional theater group in West Germany.

On July 7, 1979, in Madison WI, she married Gary Welter, who survives.  Other survivors are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Mooney of South Bend; a sister, Mrs. Sheila Lane of South Bend; and two brothers, Dennis Mooney of South Bend and Tim Mooney of Mount Lebanon PA.

Services will be 11am Monday in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, with Rev. Joseph A. Jacobs, pastor, officiating.  Burial will be in St Joseph Cemetery.  Friends may call from 5 to 9pm Sunday at the Kaniewski and Sons Funeral Home, where the parish rosary will be recited at 7pm Sunday.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Children’s Theater of Madison WI, c Nancy Thurow, University of Wisconsin.
